Isle of Coll

Each year I escape to the Isle of Coll in the Inner Hebrides to spend a few nights camping and to re-charge the batteries.

I always camp down at Uig at Garden House a small campsite run by Ken & Pat Graham.

I jire a bike from Angus at the Post Office then set off to explore and soak it the peace and quiet, this is truely heaven on earth.

These views of Feall bay on Coll were taken within 15 minutes of each other, it looks dramatic but the good news is it didn't rain!

"Now don't be taking the bike onto the beaches", says Angus. Aye right you are you kidding Angus.

Arrochar to Inverbeg

This was a wonderful day out last December with the Monklands Ramblers. The walk was entitled a "Mystery Walk" it turned out to be from Arrochar up over Ben Reoch and down into Inverbeg where the log fire at the Inverbeg Inn was most welcoming.

The Cobbler at Arrochar

Posted by Picasa

This is the famous "Cobbler" or Ben Arthur as viewed from Arrochar. The Cobbler is just below 3000 feet but nevertheless is a great wee hill to walk on. In winter it looks great.

Altea Hills

Altea Hills Posted by Picasa

Just outside Benidorm is the wonderful Spanish town of Altea. It has become a focal point for us each time we visit the Costa Blanca. Climbing up from the seafront you come across "the white village" fully restored with many resident artists and galleries, great wee bars at the top next to the Church. A great place to watch the world go by.
